Bare is about authenticity. Come as you are, and I promise to do the same.
Here are the ways I can help:
-
EMDR
The word “trauma” is derived from the Greek word for “wound.” I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), one of the most effective modalities for healing wounds caused by traumatic experiences. Evidence from over 30 randomized control trials over the last 40 years supports the efficacy of this intervention which integrates mind, body, and emotion.
-
Christian Counseling
As a follower of Christ, I can offer counseling from a Christian worldview when requested. That said, I serve people of varying faiths and consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients regardless of their spiritual beliefs.
-
Maternal Mental Health
If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, regretful or ashamed before or after welcoming a new baby, you are not alone! I have completed training to treat women experiencing perinatal mood disorders, including depression, anxiety and OCD. Postpartum Support International defines the perinatal period as pregnancy through the first year of a baby’s life. However, left untreated, maternal mental health issues can extend beyond the first year.
-
Disordered Eating and Body Dysmorphia
If you struggle with restrictive eating, binge eating, orthorexia, bulimia, or yo-yo dieting, there is hope! If you experience body shame and/or body dysmorphia, freedom is possible. I’ve traveled the road to recovery and have utilized evidenced-based practices to help countless others do the same.
-
OCD
Are you plagued by intrusive thoughts, images, urges, or feelings that don’t align with your actual values and desires? You may be among the 1 in 40 individuals suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Although it’s both common and highly treatable, OCD is sometimes misunderstood. I utilize Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), a treatment backed by decades of clinical research, to quickly and effectively provide relief for individuals experiencing OCD.
-
Anxiety and Depression
Anxiety is more than feeling nervous. Depression is more than feeling sad. If you experience racing, intrusive thoughts, sleeplessness, heart palpitations, and panic attacks, you might be living with an anxiety disorder. If you are struggling with a lack of motivation, poor appetite, loss of sex drive, and low mood, among other symptoms, you may be experiencing depression. Take heart! I utilize a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, psychoeducation, and mindfulness to help my clients find freedom from the burdens of anxiety and depression.
